R4R Summer Challenge 2020

The Risers 4 Rett committee organized the the first ever Risers 4 Rett Summer Challenge in the summer of 2020 due to COVID-19. This FREE challenge series started on June 1st and ran through September 20th, right up to the Fall Risers 4 Rett tournament. Participants had two weeks to complete each challenge with 8 challenges in total. The idea behind this challenge was that this little friendly fishing competition would infuse some energy into your summer fun.

Risers 4 Rett Summer Challenge September 8th - 20th: Fish Fumbles
Dig through your picture files on your phone and computer to show us your Fish Fumbles! For this challenge, the date doesn't matter. Send us your best fumble from any time! Post it on social media (Instagram or Facebook) with the hashtag #R4RChallengeFishFumbles and #Risers4Rett. Anglers All donated the below fishing gear for the best/funniest fumble winner!

Winners of our R4R Summer Challenge #8: Due to overwhelming response, it was hard to choose! Congrats to Reyes Bargas, you are the best/funniest fumble winner! You won fishing gear donated by Anglers All. Runner up Joshua Bay gets a Risers 4 Rat hat!

Risers 4 Rett Summer Challenge August 24th - September 6th: Most Beautiful Surroundings While Fishing - CHANGE: WITH LABOR DAY COMING UP, YOU HAVE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 7th!

Make your friends jealous! Capture your beautiful surroundings while fishing. Show us the image of yourself fishing or the beautiful river and post it on social media (Instagram or Facebook) with the hashtag #R4RChallengeBeautifulFishing.

Risers 4 Rett Summer Challenge August 10th - August 23rd: Biggest Fish Caught on a Hopper

Size counts this week! Biggest fish caught on a hopper, please include tape or measurement in photo with #R4RChallengeBiggestFishonHopper.

R4R Challenge #5:
Risers 4 Rett Summer Challenge July 27th - August 9th: Most Fish Caught of any Species & Size

Get out and fish! You have two weeks to catch as many fish as possible! All sizes and species count as long as you fished them out of the water in the two weeks. Post image with #R4RChallengeMostFish and #Risers4Rett on Facebook or Instagram and state the number of fish caught.

Risers 4 Rett Summer Challenge: July 13th - July 26th: Teach Someone to Fish

You probably have seen it... this smile of someone who caught their first fish. Share your love of fly-fishing by teaching someone else the sport. Tell us a little story of how & where you brought the smile on someone's face, add a picture and post on Instagram or Facebook with #R4RChallengeTeachFlyFishing and #Risers4Rett. A 30oz Yeti Rambler Tumbler is waiting for the winner!

We have two winners for challenge #4! Congrats to Rick Hill's daughter Charlotte and Jim Garofalo's daughter Jessica who caught a fish with her first official cast. Look at those smiles!!! Both will be receiving a Yeti Tumbler and a purple R4R hat.

R4R Challenge #3:
Risers 4 Rett Summer Challenge: June 29th - July 12th: Most Rivers Fished

Spread your horizons and fish as many rivers as possible in the two weeks of this challenge! Show us a picture of you fishing with hashtag #R4RChallengeMostRiversFished and list the rivers.

Winner of our R4R Summer Challenge #3: Chris Faulkner, who fished a whooping 7 rivers in the two week time period: Colorado River, Blue River, Yampa River, Elk River, South Platte River, north Platte, Bighorn River! He will be receiving a Waterproof Umpqua HD Large Premium Fly Box.

Risers 4 Rett Summer Challenge: June 15th - June 28th: Smallest Brown Trout

No shame in landing a small fish, here! Smallest brown trout will be the winner. Post a picture and the size with hashtags #Risers4Rett and #R4RChallengeSmallestBrownTrout on social media (IG/FB) by June 28th. Winner gets a cool R4R hat.

R4R Challenge #1:
Risers 4 Rett Summer Challenge: June 1st - June 14th: Most Warm Water Fish

It is runoff time! Head to your nearest body of warm water to see how many warm water fish you can catch! Most warm water fish landed  during the two weeks wins! You must post your # of fish and a photo of you having fun in the comments of R4R's Facebook page and post a picture on your social media pages (IG/FB) with hashtags #Risers4Rett and #R4RChallengeMostWarmWaterFish so that we can find it. The winner will receive a Risers 4 Rett hoodie!
