The 2nd Annual Women’s Risers 4 Rett event, which happened from August 12-15th 2021 was a success on all fronts!

Twenty-six women gathered to learn more about Rett Syndrome, fish the Colorado and Eagle River, relax and build community together. Due to the success and excitement from last year’s event - we added an extra day of fishing and fun activities to the event. This extra day made it possible to include an afternoon at the Vail Rod & Gun Club for a private yoga session and skeet shooting. Lodging was provided by two charming inns in Minturn - Minturn Inn and the Eagle River Inn. The lodging at the Minturn Inn was above and beyond all expectations with the customer service, the comfort of individual rooms, and the European-style breakfasts. The Eagle River Inn’s location and beauty provided the perfect weekend escape.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all included in the participants’ weekend. The food, which was beyond good, was provided by Anthony Mazza, Village Bagel, Moe’s Original BBQ, Vail Catering Services, Sunrise Cafe and the Minturn Inn.
Participants enjoyed two days of floating and wading accompanied by professional fishing guides from Minturn Anglers, Colorado Angling Company, and Vail Anglers. Minturn Anglers offered a casting clinic and all aspects of fly fishing instructions. Participants enjoyed a private wine tasting with Risers 4 Rett wine sponsor, 7Cellars as well as private yoga with Jocelyn Laferriere.
The event concluded Saturday evening with a candid conversation with Heidi Hedges-Greenall, Rett mom and RMRA board member, and an auction. Attendees were able to develop a true understanding of RMRA’s mission and the impact that Rett has on a family.
