Location

Almont, Colorado, is where the East River and the Taylor River meet to form the mighty Gunnison! The beauty here is unsurpassed…no wonder it’s one of Colorado’s premier fishing spots!

Located just outside Gunnison, Colorado, at the beautiful Almont Resort, our event is one to remember—fundraising has never been so beautiful and relaxing. Thanks to our supporters at Three Rivers Resort and Harmel’s Ranch Resort, we have access to top notch guides and breathtaking views on trout-rich waters!

A portion of the event might happen on US. Forest Service land.

Preliminary schedule

The event encompasses three amazing days of fishing, eating, socializing and relaxing.

Thursday: All teams check in Thursday afternoon at the Almont Resort in Almont, Colorado. Settle into your riverside lodging (included in your event fee) before joining us for cocktails and dinner (also included), starting at 6:30 p.m. in the event building of the Resort. You can cast a few lines that evening right at the resort while meeting the other participants. As a bonus, you will also receive a welcome packet and gift bag loaded with goodies from some of the most respected brands in the fly fishing industry.

Friday: On Friday morning, teams are assigned their stunning river locations and the fishing begins! All teams will have access to amazing private stretches on the Gunnison River, East River and Taylor River. While our base camp is the Almont Resort, we are very lucky (and thankful!) that the owners of Three Rivers Resort are supporting our event by offering access to their pristine private waters. The fishing here is legendary!

Friday night concludes with dinner and drinks (included), followed by a silent auction and raffle.

Saturday: For your second full day on the river, teams will continue to rotate fishing locations in the morning and afternoon. Saturday night we’ll have an awards ceremony with dinner and drinks (included) as prizes are handed out.

Sunday: Take your time over breakfast, then pack up and head home with great new memories and more than a couple exciting (and true) fish stories!

New to Fishing?

Risers4Rett's primary purpose is to raise funds for the Rett Clinic at Children's Hospital-Colorado. A close second priority is to raise awareness and educate people about Rett Syndrome in general. At our two charity fly fishing events we do both, and hopefully do them well.

To ensure success at our events we make sure everyone is properly prepared and comfortable with the "fishing" aspects of the weekend. Many participants are experienced fisherman, some are not. For those new to fly fishing and our events, we provide ample opportunity for all levels to understand fly fishing and have fun doing it!

At each event we provide group and individual instruction on fly fishing techniques, proper catch and release fish handling and habitat preservation. When signing up for one of our events please indicate if you would like individual lessons or to be part of a group class that will cover these topics and more. The guides and instructors at our events look forward to teaching you the skills needed to catch fish and maintain the wonderful habitat we fish in.

Fee

In 2020, we are introducing the custom-made Risers 4 Rett Hatch Reel as part of the registration process!

Entrance fee is $1100/person, $2200/team.

Our registration platform lets you create a fundraiser so that you can spread the word and get donations for your event participation.

Cancellation Policy - 100% refund prior to 60 days before event; 50% refund 30 days before event; within 30 days entry fee is considered donation with 50% going towards future event entry fee if necessary -minus any transaction fee.

Before you participate, we need you to fill out this waiver. Please download it and bring a signed copy with you to our event.

Risers 4 Rett was started by a group of avid anglers in 2013 as a fundraising arm for the Rocky Mountain Rett Association

The Rocky Mountain Rett Association is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and their families impacted by Rett Syndrome. We provide resources, engage in advocacy, education and awareness efforts, and raise funds to support the search for a cure and to run the Rett Clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Risers 4 Rett’s main purpose is to raise funds for the Rett Clinic at the Children's Hospital Colorado. The clinic requires a minimum of $100,000/year to provide support to Rett families. One of our top goals when establishing this Clinic, was to provide a place where the doctors come to the patients, not the other way around. So Rett Families conveniently stay in one. But besides the convenience, we also wanted to provide a variety, a multidisciplinary clinic. For one afternoon, we bring together up to 15 sub-specialty providers and therapists to provide a comprehensive evaluation for your child. Our providers work closely together and may refer children for additional help when needed. There are only a handful of Rett Clinics in the US and people from all over the world are coming to this clinic. For more info click here.

The Rett Clinic was a well-oiled machine, where doctors, therapists, nutritionists, social workers and nurses gave suggestions on how to improve Tatum’s quality of life.

All proceeds of the Risers 4 Rett Tournaments are going to the Rocky Mountain Rett Association. If you cannot participate in one of our events, please consider giving a monetary contribution to support this cause.
